River fishing is going well
Colorado River - Laughlin - Laughlin, AZ

River fishing is going well. Smaller stripers are in, and anchovies are the bait of choice. Even up on Lake Mohave, anchovies have proven to be highly effective, catching more fish than any other bait.
Below Davis Dam, along the shores of the Colorado River, shore fishing continues to produce. Trout are being stocked by Bullhead City, and striper action can be found up and down the river. Local angler Sharon Engelhart recently fished from shore in the downriver section of Rotary Park and landed a nice-sized striper. There are some larger fish out there, but fish in this size range often get to your bait first.
Rotary Park is seeing both trout and striper activity, with anchovies producing solid catches. On Lake Mohave, trolling is bringing in some nice fish, while smallmouth bass are still hitting lures and a variety of soft plastics. Stripers are also biting on bucktail jigs in white or light green, as well as swimbaits in white or bone colors.
Hope this helps for now. We look forward to seeing you—come in and share your story and your catch. Thanks for the continued support, and as always…
Now go catch a fish!
