The lake has been fishing really well. So well in fact that the last month has surprised even some of the ‘old timers’. We can’t even imagine what this spring is going to be like.

The recent storms have brought a bunch of fresh water to the lake and with it a fair amount of mud and floating and debris. The southern end of the lake can be a bit off following the larger storms so it might be best to look for cleaner water.

Both retrieving and indicator fishing has been working. Seems that a quick variable retrieve with Popcorn Beetles or Boobies and a Tui Chub has produced a lot of fish. The indicator bite seems to still work best with Balanced Leeches and Maholo Midges and Spark Plugs.

Flies: The One Olive, Hook-Up Olive and Chartreuse, Tui Chub, Balanced Leech Peacock and White, Boobie Chartreuse and Black and the Popcorn Beetle
