The last trout stocking was May 6 at Davis Camp. The occasional trout are being caught but the further from the last stocking date, the fewer trout that are left. Most people think anchovies are usually the best bait for the river for cats and stripers. Bob from Wisconsin landed some stripers in the 1-5 pound range fishing from shore. The best bite is above the casinos near the bridge on the Nevada side. Catfish are being caught in the lower Big Bend area. Laughlin Lagoon is producing a few largemouth. You can check the Bureau of Reclamation Web site for flow predictions http://www.usbr.gov/lc/riverops.html before you go. If you fish the river below Davis Dam and are having luck, please e-mail me at gcummins@azgfd.gov so I can share your successes with others. Many thanks to Rusty from the Riviera Marina for his fishing report.
