The Little Truckee still has limited vehicle access despite the warmer days this week. We recommend only high clearance vehicles with 4-wheel drive attempt to get back here. With the 12+ inches of snow expected this week, the limited access here will be short-lived, and it will once again be closed out to all but the most adventurous of anglers.

The flows on the LT remain low, at around 50 CFS and the reports we received are that it was a bit slow this week with the best fishing right below the dam.

Oftentimes the lower flows in the spring keep fish from running up the river from Boca, and the numbers of fish in the river lower than normal. At 50 CFS this also limits the good holding water, meaning there’s just less areas for fish to sit, which certainly doesn’t help the cause either. As they attempt to fill up Stampede for the spring, expect a few more weeks of low flows out here before an increase coinciding with the spring melt. Once this happens, we should see the LT fish great – but until then – we encourage you to not even attempt getting back here and focus on the main river.
