Wiggin's Trading Post at Chilcoot, Calif. (530-993-4683): Spring fishing is off to a great start. Many limits being reported by bank fishermen using a variety of baits: Nightcrawlers, green marshmallows, Chartreuse or rainbow Power Bait, plus spinners. Try fly fishing off shore at places like Lunker Point, Turkey Point or Crystal Point.

Trollers are doing well with flashers and nightcrawlers at Salmon Egg Shoal.

Fly fishing club meets on Apr. 4

The Carson Fly Fishing Club will hold its regular club meeting on Wednesday evening, Apr. 4. The evening's guest speaker will be Chris Wharton of Stillwater Guide Service and he will give a program on the techniques for fishing local waters.
