The weather or lack thereof over the past month or so has put Pyramid to sleep. The surface water temperature is down to around 44 degrees and there are some huge thermo-clines of warmer more oxygenated water 30 feet to 80 feet down. This has made fishing for the fly anglers really slow. It finally looks as though we are going to get some weather soon and this should help the fishing.

What happens is the wind churns up the lake and breaks up the pockets of warm water and the bait balls that are hanging out there. This sends the fish in search of food and they will do a lot more roaming. This is some exciting news for die hard Pyramid anglers who have been paying their dues over the past month. Look for the reports to change and hopefully get better over the next week or so.
