The water has dropped to perfect fishing levels this past week. The weather has been tough for the last few days but the forecast is for clear and sunny through the next week. Bugs are hatching (especially in the evenings) and the fishing is great. Caddis, Little Yellow Stones, Baetis and the beginnings of the green drake hatch in the canyon section have fish up on the surface and eating dries. The Nevada side has been too high to fish for most people wading, but that has all changed now.

The next few weeks will be some of the best dry fly fishing the Truckee has to offer, don't miss out on it. Nymphing remains the best way to catch fish during the day. Getting your flies on the bottom, whether high sticking or indicator fishing, will improve your success when the sun is high and bright. Runs with lots of boulders and other cover will hold the most fish.
