The party's over. Labor Day weekend has come and gone. The unofficial end of summer. Hirschdale was a ghost town today. If you did come up to the Truckee-Tahoe area thanks for visiting and patronising local businesses. Hopefully, you managed to stick a few on the Truckee River. Now the real fishing begins. Not that we were playing around or anything, but fall is always good, and this fall, I'm sure will be no exception. The fishing this summer was about average. It seemed like more people were on the river than in years past, which in turn makes it a little harder for everyone. At least people are out enjoying the river. It was a hot one too. Afternoons were downright nasty hot in through the canyons down from my house here in Hirschdale. I don't even want to mention how hot is was down in Reno. I'm sure we'll have a few minor heat waves, but mornings now are getting cold on the Cali side. Not so much yet in Nevada, but I'll have the boat out floating on the Eastside shortly. Going to be another good year down there. I sure as hell love fall, and it is almost here.
