The Relict Dace is endemic to Nevada, found only in isolated spring systems in eastern Nevada's White River and Pahranagat valleys. This rare minnow inhabits thermal springs and outflows where water temperatures remain relatively constant year-round. Listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act, the species is protected from take, and its limited habitat is managed cooperatively by Nevada Department of Wildlife, Bureau of Land Management, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to prevent extinction.
