Native
The Mountain Sucker is native to Nevada's cold, clear streams in the northern and eastern portions of the state, primarily in the Humboldt River drainage and tributaries of the Snake River system. These small suckers inhabit swift, rocky riffles and runs at higher elevations, where they feed on algae and aquatic invertebrates scraped from substrate. Nevada populations represent the southwestern extent of the species' range in the Great Basin.
