In Nevada
Goldfish are established in several Nevada waters, including Lake Mead, the Truckee River, and various urban ponds, primarily from aquarium releases. The Nevada Department of Wildlife considers them an invasive species that competes with native fish and degrades water quality. Releasing goldfish into Nevada waters is illegal, and anglers are encouraged to remove them if caught rather than return them to the water.
