Last weekend I launched out of lads and ran towards whisky slough. The hyacinth is thick in Stockton, and will hinder were you can go and when depending on tide. So I just picked a section of main channel out side of Stockton and went to work. The shad are defiantly moving in, with stripers right behind boiling. I Started out throwing topwater, picked up one early on the River2sea rover. I had two more takers, both were stripers though. After the sun came up I switched to a river2sea rig walker swim bait in white ice, it pulled a lot of fish. I worked on the inside weed lines along rip rap. I was also working a jerk bait were I could. I lost one decent fish on it looked over 4lbs, but most were a pound to a pound and half or stripers. As the tide bottomed out I started flipping senkos and punching. Best fish of the day came punching right at the turn of the tide. I was punching hyacinth with a 1 1/2oz trash bomb and a Yamamoto flapping hog in green pumpkin. I was off the water by 12pm. Good luck out there.

I headed out to browns ravine yesterday and had a pretty decent day on the bank. Deciding where to fish is easy, just head to any point with rocks on it and cast out as far as you can. My best baits are...... Read More
