Snow & ice will be around for a while, with additional accumulations forecast through the holidays. Look for some sub-zero temps to shut down the bite after 12/26/15. Water flows have come up thanks to run-off from Mammoth Creek. Water can be off color at times. You may experience heavy ice in the softer eddies, & pools during sub-zero air temps. Midges & attractor patterns are best during winter months. Very small pheasant tails, & bird’s nest patterns are best for nymphs. Small parachute midge; or mayfly patterns used with a 10 foot leader are best for surface presentations when the fish are on the midges/or clusters. SJ worms, crystal eggs, & crystal leeches good calls in the deepest pools. There are a few sections that can be fished with a dry dropper nymph rig.
