Truckee River

This is a great time to be on the Truckee River. Stocking began in late March and there is plenty of water to toss a line. When the runoff comes off this year’s big snowpack, fish the edges of the river (slower water). It is not a secret where the trout are stocked. Fish trucks are big vehicles and most bridges across the river are favored spots where trout can be quickly placed in the river. Fishing early in the day and fishing often are two useful tips. The Truckee River has been stocked as recently as 3/30/2016
