The East is running around 250 cfs right now, this is more water than the river has seen since 2011! The fishing is a little tough though there are some nice fish being caught here and there. A few of the keys to have some success down there in these conditions are to be sure to have enough weight to get your flies down near the bottom where the fish are hanging out, be sure to get your drifts moving the same speed as the water and watch your indicator closley as strikes are more difficult to see when the water is high. There are a lot of anglers reporting not getting any fish down there but there are also some reporting getting into 3 or 4 fish for a half day session. Still most of the fish being caught are in the 16 to 24 inch range. There have been a few fish being caught on streamers in light or bright colors, zuddlers, moal leeches, jj specials, sculpzilla, double bunnies. The best way to fish these seems to be to dead drift them under an indicator. There's also been some fishing being caught on small midge and caddis nymph patterns: fox's poopah, buckskin caddis, z-wing caddis, micro mayfly, flashback emerger, san juan worm, rainbow warrior, dark lord.
