Skipper Danny Nichols returned Intrepid to Point Loma Sportfishing January 5 after a 10-day open trip.?? The boat's 23 anglers fished off Cabo and found a log holding wahoo.

"It was mayhem!" exclaimed 14-year old Jeffrey Tedmori of Newport.

"We were cutting off each other like crazy. I got two of ???em before the sharks started to show up."

Jeffrey placed first in the jackpot with a 60.2-pound yellowfin.

"It was no accident," said a fellow angler. "The kid is a great fisherman."

Hector Lopez of San Diego took second for a 45.8-pound yellowtail. "The boat is wonderful, and our Captain was great."

Brian Larky of Napa was third for a 44.6-pound yellowfin.
