The Traffic is Light this Time of the Year

The flows on the East are about 68 cfs right now.  The fishing has been tough on the river lately, though there are some fish being caught.  It seems like the reports coming in from the Nevada side have been better than from the California side lately.  Some of the Nevada anglers are reporting 15 to 20 fish per day while on the California side it’s more like 4 or 5. The traffic is light this time of the year so that’s a plus for most anglers.  It’s getting pretty cold in the mornings so there’s not too much need to get out early, 8 or 9 should be good. Most of the action is still coming on small nymphs and there’s still some decent streamer action as well.
Recommended Flies:
WD-40,  zebra midge, flashback emerger, radiation baetis, military mayfly, dark lord, silver streak, rainbow warrior, sculpzilla, dead drift crayfish, Dali lama, moal leech, zuddler, San Juan worms, squirmy wormy’s, JJ special.
