Shorter days colder mornings and fewer anglers on the river. Fall is here! The cooler nights have made for a longer window mid-morning. While mostly nymphing, anglers are still finding good opportunities with dries using caddis, BWO’s, PMD’s and hoppers mid-day. We expect the streamer bite to pick up in the following weeks as temps continue to drop making fish more willing to chase a fly.

FLOWS:

Tahoe City: 220 CFS
Glenshire: 286 CFS
Boca Conf.: 491 CFS
Farad: 537 CFS

RECOMMENDED GEAR:
9-10 Ft. 4-6 Wt. Rod with 4-5x Tippet
Flys: smaller caddis (Rhycos), BWO’s, PMD’s, Grasshoppers, Oct. Caddis, Sculpin streamers in olive, black or natural
