The Reservoir has been excellent this past couple weeks, lots of reports of 5 to 15 fish per angler with lots of 5 to 8 pound fish in the mix. Both the trolling and bait fishing from boats have been very good. The trollers have been using mostly lead core with crawlers, Rapalas, speedy shiners and Thomas Bouyants. Bait anglers are using inflated crawlers, pinched crawlers, mice tails and power bait. The best areas lately have been off of Rainbow Point and out in front of the marina near the East Walker channel. We haven’t had much good news from shore anglers, they’re catching a few fish but the shore action is fairly slow. Not too much news from fly anglers either though we did get one report from a couple fly anglers who did well stillwater nymphing off of Rainbow Point in about5 feet of water. As the weather warms up fish will likely start moving further up into Buckeye Bay and the fly fishing should get good.
