Due to the heavy smoke, the Little Truckee River is not seeing many afternoon hatches right now. Anglers should try nymphing with midges, San Juan worms, pmds in the mornings and later in the evening, anglers could see some hatches of blue winged olives and midges. Anglers should also be on the lookout for spinners and tricos starting to fall in the afternoons and evenings. Because of the cooler water temperatures here, the river is popular. Please be mindful of other anglers and share the river.

FLOWS: 147 CFS

RECOMMENDED GEAR:
Bugs: BWOs, PMDs, San Juan Worms, Midges, Small Caddis, Small Crayfish
Gear:  9′-10′ 4-6wt rod with 9′-12′ 4x-6x leader
