The Upper Truckee River is currently closed for fishing from Tahoe City to Trout Creek. The best fishing is below Hirschdale. Anglers fishing in the Glenshire area should focus on using dry flies such as blue winged olives or midges. Anglers fishing below Glenshire and Boca should use crawdads, small nymphs, and there may be some blue winged olive activity, depending on the temperature in the afternoons.
