The midges are back in town! It is that time of year when the midges bite picks up and the indicator bite really gets into its stride. Darker midges have been best, my go to is a black body copper wire midges with a little hot spot around the collar. Depth is critical when it comes to midges fishing  I will change my depth throughout the day several times before I change my fly. Most of the fish are around 6-9 feet.

Don’t give up on the retrieve bite though as the LCT are on their pre-spawn and traveling into the shallower beaches where the strip bite can be good. Booby Fly in chartreuse and the Dark Lord variety are working well, as are  woolly buggers and midnight cowboys.

Pyramid Lake Flies We Suggest: Boobies (Spanish Olive, Cat Whisker, Diablo), Pyramid Lake Beetle, Bellyache Minnow, Jans Tui-Chub, Balanced Leech, Holographic Midge, Pyramid Lake Fly Selection

Fishing is great right now and should only get better as we head out of winter and into spring. March is booking fast, call and book a guide trip today!
