Clear lake is fishing really good right now for numbers and quality fish. There’s a small window for swimbait fish north and south of the lake. You can still find some fish spawning fish but I’ve been targeting pre spawn and post spawn fish out in 5-10 ft of water still in spawning bays or targeting rock, grass, or slight drop offs. Deep little n Norman crankbait, s waver 200, Megabass 110+1 Jerkbait, and drop shot was getting bigger fish for me. Oh and also toss a osprey swimbait around every now and then. It’s a bite that has been feast or famine for me. Fished the won bass open on clear lake a couple weeks ago and cut the last check averaging almost 19lbs a day. It was a shared weight event and my cos caught a nice one every day which really helped me out. After fishing this tournament I gained a lot of confidence in fishing a drop shot. I never throw it much in tournaments because I really don’t feel like I’m going for the win. I’ll be up here often the next couple months call or text me if you are interested in learning more on clear lake! Thanks
