The Little Truckee will have a tail water dam release soon, but anglers shouldn’t see a color change. The most prevalent hatches include various small midges and blue-winged olives. The only dry fly activity is in the morning and evenings with various midges. Fly favorites include zebra midges, two-bit hookers, micro mayflies, and small winter stoneflies. Dry fly favorites include small BWO’s and midges or gnat patterns. Fishing smaller flies are producing better results. Spawning is done here, but please make sure to not step on the redds.
