Well we have some good news from the Topock Marsh area. Our local anglers Dennis Baldwin and side kick Ray sick were fishing from Denise's boat and landed a few channel cat fish and our name sake The Bullhead cat fish. They were using chicken livers that produced this fine catch.  The marsh is know best for catfish and large mouth bass. There are some nice pan fish in the mix along with a striper now and again. Anglers have been having some of their best luck for the large mouth bass using spinner baits in a white or green. I have heard of various plastics working as well.

Now moving up river we are getting a great run on stripers the smaller ones have been first to steal the bait. Anglers are getting some limits and there are some in the 2 to 4 pound range. I normally say anchovies are your bait of choice but all are out for some reason. I am trying to find out just why and will post as soon as I can but in the meantime I do have some mackerel that might work while we wait this out. Now is a great time to try some spinners for the smaller stripers and your favorite swimbaits for the larger ones.

Hope this helps for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch mostly thanks so much for all of your support
