Klamath River - Middle

The Klamath continues to fish well. There are not as many salmon spawning, the steelies are in their normal holding spots. Try your go-to dropper flies below the Black Rubberlegs to get tight. Purple, Pink, Orange and any other Psycho Prince is a good choice. Egg patterns can still work. Swinging flies will work great on these early season fish, no need to get super deep until the water cools off. A Rage head with an intermediate singing Polyleader will keep you off of the shallow stuff, but get an Assassin or small intruder right in front of the fish. Hoh-Bo Speys in black and chartreuse, Brett's Klamath Intruders in just about any color are great flies. Heck, while it's still warm enough, throw on a Muddler or your favorite skater and have at it, you should pick up some fish. The Klamath is good right now!
