EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR

The reservoir is still offering ice-fishing opportunities. Trout are hitting on PowerBait and night crawlers. Some anglers have even been able to catch a crappie or bass through the ice using chartreuse jigs. For up-to-date ice conditions, contact Spring Valley State Park at 775-962-5102.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR

The reservoir is covered by unsafe ice with a few small patches of open water. For up-to-date ice conditions, contact Echo Canyon State Park at 775-962-5103.

LAKE MEAD

Anglers are catching striped bass with anchovies and live shad near the Hemenway Fishing Pier. They are finding better fishing early in the morning and overnight rather than during the daytime. Boaters are having luck when trolling shad lures 40 feet down. Black bass action is picking up around Callville Bay. Anglers are using bone-colored swimbaits and walking baits

LAKE MOHAVE/WILLOW BEACH

Double-digit stripers are hitting jointed trout swimbaits, anchovies, and Sassy Shads. Shore anglers and boaters report the most action after sunset or before sunrise. Rainbow trout are taking gold and red spinners and PowerBait eggs from the fishing pier. Lake Mohave striper anglers are targeting fish in about 50 feet of water at the south end of the lake. They are using a variety of shad-patterned swimbaits and crankbaits.

LAUGHLIN

Swimbaits and Glide Baits in trout patterns are producing striped bass catches along the river. One lucky angler landed a 17-pound striper below Big Bend State Recreation Area using his favorite swimbait. Rainbow trout are most active in the mornings and afternoons. The fish are looking for pink and orange PowerBait, mice tails, or worms fished in the shadows.

 WAYNE E. KIRCH WMA

Ice conditions are questionable, and  recent overnight lows have made it difficult to fish from shore or launch a boat. Use extreme caution while visiting the area.

URBAN PONDS

Stocked rainbow trout are hitting various baits, lures, and flies. Mealworms, night crawlers, and rainbow PowerBait are fooling the fish. Rooster Tails and other spinners attract trout and a few bass in the afternoons. Fly anglers are catching trout with flies such as Hare’s Ear and Prince Nymphs.
