As I have been saying we have some big fish out here in our local water way. This fish was landed below the Davis Dam on the Colorado river from shore. Our angler from the Laughlin Nevada side of the Colorado River Austin Dwiers landed this nice 41-inch Striper. He was fishing from shore in the Big Bend area using anchovies. This fish weighed in at 20.02 pounds and is a great catch and glad he made it in to share this story. I have been getting reports of stripers being landed mostly in the 4-to-6-pound range.

I have heard of a few stripers being landed up on lake Mohave in the 2-to-3-pound range and again anchovies have been working well. The Largemouth bass are still on the beds watching the eggs and will be guarding the fry soon. so, a reminder they are not feeding as of yet once the fry are big enough he will move on and will be hungry. These small baby fish will grow up and be ready for anglers to practice on they need a little bit of time so as not to kill the fry or let the carp come in and eat all the eggs, thanks.

We should be getting some word from the marsh soon our water levels are getting better and so is our weather. while we are warming up its a good time to get your gear in order and renew your fishing license these days its best to do online at Arizona game and fish.

Hope this helps for now and we are looking forward to seeing you in soon with some fish and a story mostly thanks for all of the support

This is a tough month for our anglers not much to report except its slow and the fish won't bite. I did here of one angler landing a striper in the Chaparral area. While fishing from shore using anchovies in the 18 in range but outside of that the winds have kept all inside. We are starting to get some nicer weather, with this weather change we should get both anglers out there fishing and fish out there biting. Up on...... Read More
