Trout and Stripers Biting This Week

Colorado River - Laughlin - Laughlin, NV

We have both stripers and trout on the hook, and our local as well as visiting anglers are enjoying some great fishing in the outdoors. Our local angler Jennifer Gonzalez was able to catch her limit of rainbow trout at Davis Camp while fishing from shore using a brown trout jig. Meanwhile, down the river, our local angler Bill Trude and his visiting nephew Todd Johnson landed some stripers. They were fishing from Bill's boat near the Nature Center area using anchovies. The larger fish weighed in at 13.56 pounds and was 31 and 1/4 inches, while the other two weighed in at 8 pounds, one smaller and the other larger. It was a nice catch, and they placed second. As Bill stated on his Sunday fishing, he couldn't even have bought a fish; they were skunked for that day.

There is not much word from up on Lake Mohave, where the largemouth and smallmouth bass are in spawn or pre-spawn. They won't be feeding for a bit, and I am sure it's the same downriver at the Topock Marsh area.

Hope this update helps, and we look forward to seeing you to share your catch and your story. Mostly, thank you so much for all of your support. Now go catch a fish!
