🚨 Ice update 🚨

Wild Horse Reservoir - Owyhee, NV (Elko County)

by Wild Horse State Recreation Area

As we enter spring, the ice on the reservoir will begin melting at an accelerated rate. We have attached a few photos with different locations around the reservoir in which water has been exposed. We will no longer be providing ice thickness updates due to safety concerns. We do not recommend ice fishing on the reservoir at this time due to thinner ice levels. We will provide updates when we notice more exposed water, but we do not have an estimate to when ice off will begin or how long it will be before the reservoir is ice free. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any comments or concerns. Thank you and stay safe out there!
