There are some very nice trout in Malheur Reservoir right now. Anglers were consistently catching trout using a variety of methods. Recent sampling showed there are plenty of trout in the 17 to 20-inch range weighing around two pounds with good numbers of smaller trout as well.
The reservoir is quite full and the boat ramp is usable. The water is a little murky, fishing will improve as the water clears after spring runoff. Try contacting The Outdoorsman (541-889-3135), a local sporting goods store in Ontario for the latest information. Anglers should look forward to some great fishing this spring.
