The road is open to the lake. I personally like to hike down to Caples Lake and fish by the falls with small spinners or flies. Then afterwards I fish the lake.

Blue Lake Lower: As of this week, the road was open to the 3rd gate
West Carson River: The area in Hope Valley has produced some good rainbows in the 1 to 3 lb class
East Carson River: Fishing has been a little slow but a few have been caught in the 4 to 6lb class
Markleeville Creek: Fishing was hot over the weekend
