The flow on the East is about 130 today. The river is still fishing pretty well, not so much still in the upper mile just below the dam, mostly down further past the bridge and on in to Nevada. We’ve had good reports on straight nymphing as well as some dry action and some dry/dropper action. The best time of the day to fish with the warmer weather has been early in the morning and later in the evening, say from about 7 to 11 in the am and 5 to 8:30 in the pm. The water temps are slowly creeping up but it sounds like the fish are still getting plenty of oxygen and are fighting well and releasing well. We’ll of course keep an eye on this and pass on information if/when it becomes time to give the river a rest. Successful patterns include: flashback emerger, perdigon, darth baetis, copper John, zebra midge, chubby chernobyl, stimulator, hoppers, san juan worm, squirm jig.
