This place could be one of the best locations to fish in the coming days with the storms on the way. Typically you can find rainbows congregating in the tributary inlets this time of year, they will eat shad, but bring your nymph box because they could be targeting hatching midges or mayflies. The spotted bass are chasing shad and searching for whatever they can put their mouth around. The most productive technique is Float n' Fly with the shad Float n' Fly pattern or a dark Balanced Leech. Look for the bass and trout to chase shad balls and throw a streamer like the Baby Fat Minnow in Sexy Shad on an I-Line. This fall and through the winter will be a great time to get out on the lake if you would like to catch as many fish as you can handle or want to sight cast streamers to cruising fish, give us a call we have the best fly guides on Shasta Lake!
Hot Flies:
• Wooly Buggers
• Float-n-Flies
• Dead Drop Minnow
• Zack's Stillwater Balanced Leech
