Winter steelhead fishing has slowed a little on the North Fork Nehalem due to low flows and cold water temperatures, but there are good numbers returning with many fish having been recycled to provide additional opportunity. Fishing will improve when we get some rain, but until then light line, dark colors, and subtle terminal presentations should help increase the odds of hooking fish. Low water is also a good time to fish hardware (spoons or spinners) as they entice a territoral bite.
