The reservoir is fully open water and the boat ramp at the State Park is back in the water. Water temps are sitting in the low 50s. Over 37,000 rainbow trout averaging 9″ have been stocked this spring. Trout fishing is good, with most catches measuring 12″-18″ and several over 20″. Trout action will continue to improve as water temps increase into the mid-50s. Balanced leeches, woolly buggers and chironomids should work for fly anglers. Spin casters will have luck floating PowerBait or worms just off the bottom. Fish are cruising the shallows where the water warms up first. Bass fishing will remain slow until warmer weather persists.
