PMDs continue to drive the afternoon hatch, while evening caddis have become increasingly consistent. Blue Wing Olives are still mixed into the hatch and a few lingering Green Drakes can still surprise anglers in select reaches.
Subsurface fishing continues to be the most dependable option. Golden Stone nymphs, Zebra Midges, Olive Perdigons, PMD nymphs, and caddis pupa are all producing fish when drifted naturally through deeper holding water. Anglers targeting bull trout are finding success with articulated baitfish patterns fished through deeper pools and structure during the early morning and evening hours.
