Our local angler, Steve Beasely, landed a couple of nice stripers while trolling on Lake Mohave near Davis Dam. He was using a jig to land these fish, and other anglers are also getting a few stripers on anchovies and swim baits.

Here along the shores of the Colorado River below Davis Dam, anchovies have been producing very well. We have a lot of great spots to catch these fish, but here’s a good tip: the stripers are cruising the shallows and shoreline looking for food.

Swim baits in a trout pattern or white have been producing some of our larger fish.

With the lower water releases from Davis Dam, shore fishing can be a great option right now. It can also help you avoid risking damage to your boat or prop in the lower water conditions. And remember, we do repair props here, so keep that in mind if you decide to venture out on the water.
