Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish the week of September 7th.  The total stock so far is 6,500 pounds. A total of 8,500 pounds will be stocked this season with catfish stockings concluding in October.

What’s the catch? The bite stayed productive last weekend, with anglers finding quality bass and solid catfish action throughout the lake.

A 10-pound bass was landed near the dam in Shadow Cove on a shiners. With larger bass moving into deeper water, anglers targeting trophy fish should continue working live shiners around steep structure, points and deeper shoreline areas.

Catfish action remains strong, with six catfish—including two albinos—caught near the entrance to Shadow Cove. Fishermen reported success using mackerel and blood bait. Several anglers also reported limits of catfish on chicken liver, making it another productive option for soaking bait along deeper edges and structure. For catfish, focus on areas with deeper water and structure, and keep baits near the bottom. Mackerel, blood bait and chicken liver are all producing fish right now.

The lake will continue to be open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays through October.
