Water levels at Stampede Reservoir continue to decline as fall progresses, but anglers can still find opportunities to catch trout. Rainbow trout are being caught by anglers trolling Rapalas, while shore anglers are finding success near the dam using worms, PowerBait, and spinners. Kokanee are currently spawning around the Little Truckee and Sagehen inlets, so be mindful of bears frequenting these areas. Smallmouth bass fishing has slowed considerably with cooler temperatures, and the bite is expected to remain slow for the rest of the season unless warmer weather returns.
