Three wahoo swept the jackpots for the Excel after Mike Ramirez docked the boat at Fisherman's Landing November 2. The trip was eight days, the Haj Shimada charter, with 31 anglers and chartermaster Haj. "We fished on The Ridge," said Mike, "where it was 75 degree, and at Benitos, in 67 degree water and great yellowtail fishing. We also got some local tuna at 160 miles".

Nouri Zalta of Newport beach won firt place for a 45.8-pound wahoo. He said he nabbed it with a gold Raider jig on 40-pound Izorline XXX and 65-pound Power Pro spectra on a Trinidad 20 reel and a Seeker 6470 rod.

Sharon Asato of Honolulu won second place for her 38.4-pound skinny, her first wahoo and her first jackpot. Dave Robinson of Chino Hills took third place for his 37.8-pound wahoo.
