Water Conditions: Great the flows are at 31 cfs as of 8/2.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Great fishing at Rock Creek. Wouldn't you rather hike in a little bit to get away from everybody else. Or go way down below the lake and fish below the campgrounds.
Big and bright usually does the trick here.
Recommended Flies:
DRIES: Parachute Adams #16, Elk Hair Caddis #18, Crystal Humpy #16, Royal Coachman #16, Rubber Leg Stimulator, Yellow Humpy 18, Kaufman Stimulator 16, Taylor's Fat Albert #14
NYMPHS: Copper John #20-22, Red/Green Copper John #20-22, BH Prince Nymph #18, Stocker's BH Lightning Bug #18.
Guides Hint: Dry dropper rigs are working best with a bright pattern on the bottom.

Mammoth Lakes : Fishing conditions haven't changed much in the Mammoth Lakes area
Hot Creek: Good Trico haych followed by some small Mayflies on Hot Creek
San Joaquin River: It's time to "match the hatch" on the San Joaquin river. The fish are more selective
Crowley Lake: Crowley is "on fire". 'Bows are being taken from 18" to 25" and Browns to 22"
Owens River: There is a strong caddis hatch in the late afternoon and early evening on the Upper Owens
Owens River: Not much has changed at the Owens River Gorge, the key is to be stealthy

Mammoth Lakes : The water is warming and the fish are more active at the Mammoth Lakes basin
Hot Creek: Tricos early, Caddis late & Hoppers are always good at Hot Creek
San Joaquin River: The flows are down on the San Joaquin & most of the fish are wild trout right now
Crowley Lake: The algae has sunk in Lake Crowley & fishing for BIG fish is excellent!
Owens River: The water is low & clear so its important to be stealthy when fishing the Upper Owens
Owens River: The Owens River Gorge is crystal clear so you have to approach with stealth
Rock Creek - Section 1: The fishing has been great at Rock Creek
Rush Creek: On Rush Creek use attractor patterns, and a stealthy approach
Owens River: The flows are under 300 cfs on the Lower Owens & the fishing is great
Bridgeport Reservoir: Streamers early & midges after mid-day at Bridgeport Reservoir
East Walker River: On the East Walker fish attractor patterns or Hoppers early & Caddis or BWO later
