While the catch rate for rainbow trout has slowed, the river offers many species of game fish. Among them are striped bass, catfish, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Catfish action has been improving with anglers finding success in the Sunshine Peninsula and Community Park areas. Largemouth bass are starting to come around as well with the marsh showing the most action. Striped bass action is slow though anglers are catching some fish in the one- to three-pound range.
