With the ocean temps above normal for this time of year, the air temps are warmer too as is the fishing. Capt. Juan Arce Marron reports wide open yellowtail bite both trolling and jigging; big calicos, bonito, sheepshead and skipjack complete the mixed bag this week. A big surprise was spotting a hammerhead shark on the surface while they were fishing in San Pablo! We have heard reports of tuna 10 miles out and dorado a bit south of here so looking forward to that. Usually small yellowtail are just beginning to show at this date. The Traditional Fiestas are this weekend so town is crazy with lots of people here for the events: horse races, cabalgata, rodeo, beach sports, midway, music and dances every night and the fishing tournament is on Saturday with all the fish being caught used to feed the town at the party
