Very fortunately, departures like yesterday come along once in a blue moon. With an ominous forecast of forty knot south east winds and eight to twelve seas, we departed with a beautiful load of bait free of any illusions that we were bound to have an easy time of it. I have to report that the weather man was right on the mark and it is fortunate that we prepared accordingly. It is also fortunate that these vessels are very capable in rugged sea conditions and all of our anglers can count on the fact that they will be safe offshore while enjoying their long range adventure. In yesterday's case enjoying may not be the correct description however as we clawed our way through the first fifteen hours in sloppy conditions at a greatly reduced speed. The good news is that following those first miserable fifteen hours, the seas state began to show considerable improvement and continued the trend through present. As a matter of fact, we are all now witnesses to one of the many grand spectacles the ocean has to offer. As I write this report, there is zero wind and the sea state is just short of flat calm. It never ceases to amaze us when we witness such a miraculous transformation. Needless to say spirits are now high and we are presently heading south preparing our equipment for the fishing to come. Look forward to our consistent reports as we have another fourteen days to go on this voyage.
