We spent the day targeting big bft and were rewarded big time with a couple
stops that were reminiscent of the mid 90's. The adrenaline meter was pegged as
we rolled into these immense schools of 70-100lb plus fish that would erupt all
around us. The first school hit us and left but the second stuck around and
drifted with us until dark. Our tally was 29 for the day, most of which were 70-
90lbs with two at 110. We definitely saw fish up to 140 and lost one after an
epic battle that was pushing that mark.
The water is not warming up considerably so I expect to see this great bft
angling to continue through most of the Summer, give Tracy a call if bft are
your quarry.
We are heading into the beach tonight with full limits of bft and plan to try
for butts before calling it a trip.
Bob Newman shows off a 110 in today's shot.

07/06/12 Another stellar day of bft angling in flat calm weather. Once again we had our daily limits and spent the bulk of the afternoon looking for the bigger models. The bulk of the catch was 25-35lbs with a few standout 65lbers mixed in. We are going to try a different area tomorrow hoping for a school of the 60 plus lbers. Jeff Cox is in today's shot with a 65lber. Photo Here... ...... Read More

07/04/2012 A happy 4th it was here on the Royal Star today as we awoke to flat calm seas and an ocean full of bluefin. We hit spots all day for our daily limits with most of the fish going 25-35lbs. We did get one school of the bigger models late that produced three 60-70lbers. Needless to say we're going to spend the night here. The overall sign was incredible today with spots of bft being reported by the entire fleet spread...... Read More
