Another fine day of weather on the offshore grounds made searching for the
elusive bft a pleasure. We hit a handfull of spots through early afternoon that
produced 35 from 25-40lbs. Unfortunately due to the smaller grade seen
throughout this morning, we weren't quite prepared when we rolled into a spot of
100-150lbers late in the day. We managed to hook six and batted one thousand losing them
all. The show was worth the price of admission though. I'm sure if we get another
shot we'll have better results.
With the shot at this caliber fish we're going to give this another day.

We had several stops for zero to five fish for a final tally of 24 from 40-65lbs; not a bad start, but we always want more. We are relocating tonight in hopes of waking up on the bigger models. 6/05/2013 And once again, to no one's surprise, the first week of June becomes the official starting point for the summer 2013 offshore season. Excellent sign of bluefin, with a couple of stops producing a bounty of fish from 70 - 110 pounds, and even good signs of school size yellowfin indicate that this season promises to supply plenty of tuna on both the long range and local grounds. Things are looking very good in both the short and long...... Read More
