After this next storm passes, we may begin to see a consistent shore bit

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The algae bloom last week has mostly broken up, and as this storm moves in and we pass the last full moon, we hope to see the shore fishing continue to improve. We have heard rumors that the fish are starting to transition into shallower water with some regularity. After this next storm passes, we may begin to see a consistent shore bite. Until then,

The cold weather this week has made the water temps drop on the river

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The cold weather this week has made the water temps drop on the river, and we are now seeing them in the 48-54 degree range at the Farad gauge. This will certainly begin to move the fish into slower water and make them more active in the afternoons. The great thing about this time of year is we have the luxury of sleeping in, and

Most of the fish are being caught near the 70-foot mark feeding on chubs

by MOUNTAIN HARDWARE & SPORTS
At Pyramid Lake, most of the recent algae bloom has broken up with the heavy winds that came through this past weekend. There may be a few scattered patches that are tough to fish, but overall, the water clarity is much better. Most of the fish are being caught near the 70-foot mark feeding on chubs. The shallow water bite can be hit or miss.

Excellent fall weather the Truckee has been experiencing

by MOUNTAIN HARDWARE & SPORTS
Water Conditions The Truckee River is currently offering excellent, fall fishing conditions. With water temperatures between 56 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit, the fish are active during any part of the day. While the flows in the upper river might be low, they gain momentum significantly at the Boca Confluence. With cloudy skies and cooler weather, now is the ideal time to get out and enjoy the

Lake Mohave Striped Bass

by RUSTY
Here’s the latest Lake Mohave fishing update! Local anglers Raul and Jennifer Gonzalez were out trolling the lake and caught a nice batch of stripers, with the largest weighing in at 8.44 pounds. They traveled a bit to find the productive spots, landing these near the power lines upriver from the Princess Cove launch ramp. Reports indicate that the area near the dam on the Nevada

Finally Some Cold Weather for the Truckee!

by MATT KOLES
Finally some cold weather for the Truckee River.  Was a hot ass early fall. Now that we have some more typical fall weather, we can actually do some fall fishing. Meaning, you can target different types of water, and use different approaches.  It's below freezing at night, at least on the Ca side, so starting really early may not be best. Look for fish in softer water

Pyramid Lake Fishing Report

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
Pyramid Lake has been dealing with a significant algae bloom over the last week or so, which has particularly effected the north end of the lake. This is a bit strange for this time of year, as this is usually a problem seen in lakes during the summer months, but given how warm this October has been, it makes sense. We hope with the colder

The Truckee is in prime shape in the canyon section of the river

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The Truckee is in prime shape in the canyon section of the river. The Glenshire area remains low but is still fishing well all things considered. With the first snow of the year in town, we expect the last remaining grasshoppers to be just about done for the year going forward. The use of dry droppers up here will now be limited to October Caddis,

7.36lb. Striper

by RUSTY
We have some Colorado River news this week! Local angler Mitch Jones was fishing from shore in the community park area and landed a nice-sized striper weighing 7.36 pounds and measuring 28 inches. He was using a swim bait in a trout pattern. This is good news, as lures are starting to produce larger stripers, which have mostly been caught using anchovies in the 1
