Lake Casitas, located in Ventura County near Ojai, CA, is a 2,700-acre reservoir known statewide for its trophy-class largemouth bass fishery. Managed for both water quality and recreation, the lake enforces a ban on swimming and other body-contact activities, preserving its status as a top-tier fishing destination.

Largemouth bass fishing peaks in spring during the spawn, when bass move into the shallows. Anglers use swimbaits, jigs, soft plastics, and crankbaits to target both numbers and trophy-sized fish. During summer, deeper water tactics like drop-shotting and Carolina rigs are effective.
