how Low Lake is a 100-acre reservoir located in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona. Situated at 6,500 feet, it offers anglers a productive, multi-species fishery supported by regular AZGFD stocking and natural reproduction of warm-water species.

Rainbow trout are stocked throughout the spring, summer, and fall, and are caught using PowerBait, worms, and spinners. Fly anglers find success with nymphs and dry flies during hatches. Show Low Lake also supports walleye—one of the few Arizona lakes with a self-sustaining population. Walleye are best targeted in spring and fall with jigs or crankbaits near drop-offs.

Bass fishing for both largemouth and smallmouth is productive during warmer months, especially near rocky coves and submerged timber. Bluegill provide fun shoreline action for families, and channel catfish are active in the evenings.

Boating is permitted with a “no wake” rule. Amenities include a paved boat ramp, fishing dock, campground, RV hookups, and a small tackle store. Shore and dock fishing are popular and productive.

Standard Arizona bag limits apply—six trout, six walleye, and five combined bass. A valid Arizona fishing license is required.

With a balanced mix of cold- and warm-water species, easy access, and great amenities, Show Low Lake is a go-to destination for anglers of all skill levels in the White Mountains.
